2011 TALKING PICTURES FESTIVAL

Grab your neighbors, friends, and family to travel the world and enjoy films from the U.S., Europe, Africa, Chi-town and everywhere else in between.  Now in its third year, the 2011 Talking Pictures Festival takes place April 14 - 17 in Evanston and celebrates independent films from around the world mixed with brand new offerings by local filmmakers.  From animation to documentaries, fiction films and shorts programs, this year's four-day festival will offer everyone the chance to discover a great new crop of films and meet visiting filmmakers up close and in person.

A full festival schedule will be posted in March at: www.talkingpicturesfestival.org

Festival locations this year include three Northwestern University venues:   Block Cinema, Annie Mae Swift Hall, and the Medill School of Journalism, as well as free programming at the Evanston Public Library.  The Talking Pictures Festival is produced by the non-profit Percolator Films with much help from a group of dedicated volunteers, local community groups and businesses.

”What a wonderful experience the Talking Pictures Festival was!  It totally lived up to its name.
I think it is a really great forum for art and community to come together.  The shared experience of a film, and then being able to discuss it right away with a group is so important.”

– Laura Israel, Windfall filmmaker
