Founded in 2009, the Talking Pictures Festival is quickly becoming one of Evanston’s major cultural events.  Organized by Percolator Films, the annual festival celebrates independent films from around the world mixed with brand new offerings by local filmmaker.

The 2012 Talking Pictures Festival will take place on March 8 - 11, 2012, with screenings taking place at Noyes Cultural Arts Center, Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and free screenings at the Evanston Public Library. Audience members can look forward to a stimulating blend of independent films ranging from animation, documentaries, and fiction films to several films by local filmmakers – not to be missed!

”What a wonderful experience the Talking Pictures Festival was!  It totally lived up to its name.
I think it is a really great forum for art and community to come together.  The shared experience of a film, and then being able to discuss it right away with a group is so important.”

– Laura Israel, Windfall filmmaker

We are proud that the Talking Pictures Festival is a very collaborative undertaking – from the fabulous volunteers who staff the festival and serve on our festival committee, the many community groups that co-present programs with us, to the local businesses that help us through their sponsorship.
